Reformer Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise performed on a specially designed piece of equipment called a Reformer. Its springs and pulleys provide both support and resistance, helping you develop strength, mobility, balance and control through precise, flowing movement.
-
Not at all. Beginners are warmly welcomed at BANK. Our teachers will introduce you to the Reformer, explain how everything works and offer guidance throughout the class, so you can move with confidence and at a pace that feels right for you. The Foundations class is the best entry level class.
-
Please bring a bottle of water and a pair of clean grip socks. You do not need to bring a mat or any other equipment—we will provide everything else you need.
Please arrive a little early for your first class. This gives us time to welcome you, show you around the studio and introduce you to the Reformer before the session begins.
-
Yes. Grip socks must be worn during all Reformer classes. They help you maintain a secure connection with the equipment and support good studio hygiene. If you do not already own a pair, grip socks will be available to purchase at BANK.
-
Wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely and enables your teacher to observe your alignment. Leggings, fitted joggers and a comfortable top work well. We recommend avoiding loose clothing, zips or anything that may catch on the equipment.
-
Thoughtful, well-guided movement may help you build strength, improve mobility and become more confident in your body. Our approach focuses on helping you move with greater ease and supporting you as you step away from recurring pain cycles.
Pilates is not a substitute for medical treatment, so please seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional if you have unexplained, persistent or worsening pain.
-
That is completely fine. Pilates is not about keeping up with anyone else. Our teachers can offer different levels, adjustments and alternatives to help you work safely and confidently. You are always encouraged to listen to your body and take a break whenever you need one.
-
Yes. Private sessions offer individual guidance and can be especially helpful if you are new to Pilates, returning after an injury or would like to work towards a particular goal. They also provide an opportunity to become familiar with the Reformer before joining a group class.
-
Classes can be booked through the BANK Pilates website or app. Advance booking is recommended, as spaces are limited.

BANK was created around the belief that your health is one of the most valuable investments you can make. Every session is an opportunity to invest time in yourself, build strength and confidence, and support your wellbeing for years to come. It is also a nod to our iconic building in the heart of Petersfield that is steeped in banking history.
